Torn, Sagging or Missing Window Screens
We rescreen window screens, build new ones to fit openings that never had them, and replace frames that have gone soft at the corners. Screens are the whole business here — not a sideline for a handyman or a glass company — and have been since 1997.
Most jobs are a batch rather than a single screen. People tend to look up one day and realise that half the house needs doing, which is fine: a houseful is quicker per screen than one on its own, and it costs less that way too.
What Usually Needs Doing
- Rescreening an existing frame. If the frame is straight, the mesh is the only thing that has failed. New mesh and new spline into the frame you already have.
- A new screen for an opening. Measured and built for that window. Older houses in particular have openings no stock size fits, which is the usual reason a screen has been missing for years.
- Frames that have given up. Corners pulled apart, aluminum bowed, or a screen that will not sit in its track any more. Frame gets rebuilt rather than patched.
- Pet damage, low down. Common, and worth knowing that a heavier mesh exists for exactly this.
Custom Window Screens
Everything is built to the opening. There are no kit sizes, which matters more on windows than on porches — a 1970s ranch, a 1990s subdivision house and a new build will all have different frames, and a screen that is a quarter-inch out either rattles or will not go in.
Mesh choice is worth thirty seconds of thought. Standard fiberglass is the default and disappears from inside. A charcoal shade reads darker from the street and gives more privacy without losing the view out. Solar screen is the one people do not know to ask for: on a west or south elevation it cuts a noticeable amount of heat and glare, which in a North Georgia summer shows up on the cooling bill rather than just in comfort. Frames come in white, beige, silver, almond, sandstone, black and bronze.

We work from Ball Ground across Cherokee, Pickens, Forsyth, Cobb and North Fulton counties. If you are in Acworth, Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs, Cumming, Alpharetta, Roswell, Marietta or Kennesaw, this is routine work rather than a special trip. Further out, call and ask — a houseful of screens travels better than a single one.
Window screen work does not run to the two to three weeks a porch takes. Once we have the measurements it is usually days, and fitting them is an hour or two.
While We Are There
If the porch screens are going at the same time as the window screens — and they usually are, because they are the same age — say so and we will look at both on one visit. Porch panels, doors that no longer close and sagging mesh are the same day's work, and if you are thinking about closing a deck in properly rather than repairing it again, that is a screen porch.
