An extruded aluminum enclosure is a covered outdoor space closed in with screen or vinyl glazing so you can keep using it when the weather turns. You may also hear it called a patio enclosure, a porch enclosure, a three-season room or a Florida room — same product, different names. What a Patio Enclosure Is
It's an existing porch, deck or patio enclosed with an aluminum frame and either insect screen or sliding vinyl panels. Unlike a full sunroom addition, it doesn't need foundation work or a new roof structure — we work with what your house already has, which keeps the cost and the timeline down.
With screen, you get a bug-free outdoor room. With vinyl glazing, you can close the panels against wind and rain and extend the season into early spring and late autumn. Most customers here choose vinyl over the screen so they can do both.

The problems worth designing around here are pollen, summer humidity, sudden thunderstorms and the pine and oak litter that comes down all year in the foothills:
- Spring pollen: a closed vinyl panel keeps the worst of the Georgia pollen season off your furniture. Anyone who has tried to sit outside in April knows why this matters.
- Summer storms: panels close in seconds when a storm blows through, so cushions and rugs stay dry.
- Mosquitoes and no-see-ums: the reason most people call us. A properly fitted screen ends it.
- Leaf and needle litter: if you're under hardwoods or loblolly pine, an enclosed porch stops being something you sweep twice a week.
- Shoulder seasons: vinyl glazing buys you comfortable evenings in March and October that an open porch simply doesn't offer.
Your Options
- Screen enclosure: insect screen in an aluminum frame. The simplest and least expensive way to close in a patio, and the right answer if bugs are the whole problem.
- Vinyl panel enclosure: sliding vinyl glazing that opens for airflow and closes against weather. More expensive, considerably longer season.
- Combination: vinyl on the exposed elevations, screen where it's sheltered. Common on wraparound porches.
- Screen room: a freestanding screened structure where there's no existing porch to work with.
Extruded Aluminum Frames, Mesh and Doors
The frames we build with are extruded aluminum, and it is worth understanding what that means, because it is the part of the job you cannot see once the work is finished.
Extruded aluminum is forced through a die under pressure to form a solid structural profile with consistent wall thickness throughout. That is a different material from roll-formed sheet, which is thinner, lighter and far easier to bend out of true — by a ladder leaning against it, by a limb coming down, or by a dog going through a lower panel. An extruded frame holds its shape and its squareness over years of Georgia heat and humidity, and it holds screen tension without bowing across a wide opening.
Frames come in bronze, almond and white, chosen to match your trim rather than fight it. For mesh we'll walk you through standard fibreglass, higher-clarity options that all but disappear from inside, and pet-resistant mesh if you have a dog who takes an interest. Doors can be hinged, sliding or French, in matching finishes.
